A fragment of a notebook page, where its lines extend into the horizon line. A landscape of thought and a catalog of a walk in upstate New York in 2010.

Made while in residence at the Millay Colony for the Arts, the work embodies the spirit of Edna St. Vincent Millay, encountered while walking through the blueberry fields.

brushed onto raw fabric, embroidery fixes certain lines in place, and tracing paper creates a dimmed interior field. Cut and layered canvas structures the surface, while exposed seams and loose threads keep the work provisional, as if still in use.
